OVERVIEW

Steidl Running and Uplift Fitness are collaborating to bring you a hands-on opportunity to learn distance running-focused core and weight lifting exercises beneficial for strength and injury resilience.

We will break into small groups and work with a personal trainer to individually learn how to do each exercise appropriately to ensure you're utilizing the correct muscle groups as well as avoiding injury due to poor form.

We will also discuss how to build upon each exercise over time as you get stronger.

Come with a positive attitude, ready to move and sweat!

This is designed for both distance runners who have been weight training for years and those who haven't done weight training previously to learn in a safe and fun environment.

And everyone in between!

This is a judgement free event and is open to all ages, genders, and abilities.

  • Distance runners who want to incorporate appropriate strength training exercises into their training. It is open to people of all ages, genders, and abilities.

  • Lifting weights and doing other exercises! This is a hands-on seminar.

  • Be sure to wear athletic clothing, including athletic shoes. You may also want to bring a water bottle with a non-spill top.

  • Uplift Fitness is a half block away from the Capitol Hill Light Rail station, making that the best option for transportation. On street parking is available in the area as well.
